Opportunity Details

Organization: Camp Exclamation Point
Description:
The private, non-profit organization Camp Exclamation is looking for some volunteers to help on the last day of camp to close down the property. Camp Exclamation Point serves the children of migrant farm workers in Vermont. These families work in the dairy, agriculture, or timber industries within the state. They live in very rural locations, have limited incomes, and few outside resources. Their children come to our camp for a week each summer, and the cost is covered by the camp. We typically serve just over 100 children each summer. Since we rent the property from the Aloha Foundation, we work with their maintenance staff to close down cabins, store gear, etc. on the last day, and the more volunteers we have helping, the quicker it goes. Typically, that task runs from 10am - 3pm on the last day of camp (Saturday, August 27). Lunch is included. There is no age requirement to participate. Please email us if you are interested in helping.
Location: Richmond
Time Commitment(s): Single day
How to Apply: By email.
Expiration Date: December 31st, 2012
